A Pretty Great Day!

A pretty great day!

Helooo from Woosta,

The day started out real good---then----it finished even better.  She was up, showered and eating a titch more than a bird by 10am.
We walked the course a couple of times and even took her for a cruise outside.  Amy came to visit today so with those 2 personalities together it was a delightful afternoon.
Tam was free of her tag-along (IV pole) for most of the day.  She would get hooked up only to receive her antibiotic.
Dr. Lambert talked of hooking up a "wound vac" that would accelerate healing.  I am not sure if she would have to stay in the hospital for that or not.  Will find out more tomorrow.
White blood cell count today.....a 6 without a spleen!!  A normal person is between .5 to 5.0--So she is doing real well there.  A couple weeks ago wasn't she at 26?
Blood sugar was around 150.  They say the slightly higher blood sugar helps in quicker healing as well.
There is a mystery happening here.  Tam has been waking up to a wet bed and they don't know what could be leaking but so far the best answer is night sweats---welcome to menapause!!  Also Dr. Lambert said this particular antibiotic can cause night sweats. So we will see what happens in the morning.
She has about sucked the top off her sucker toy - the aspirator, but she still talks a bit soft.  Better though everyday.
After enjoying this good day we pray for no more set-backs.  The folks at Hope Lodge want her to back.  So that's the goal.  We just have to take it a day at a time.

Abby
