Hi Tami-ites!

Dr. Lambert just came in and told us the white blood cell count is still very high, but it did go down a couple points. She said Momma looked very good, and that her voice will grow stronger with time (for any of you who have talked to her, she sounds a little down in the dumps...she's not. She's just tired, and her voice is just raspy from the surgery.) Still no idea what's spiking that blood count though! Isn't that odd? She seems great, looks great...must be great! Pray that her next test will pass!

Dr. Lambert was also very concerned about her feet. She kept staring at them, touching them, poking and prodding...they're definitely swollen a bit, and a not-so-pretty shade of purple. But then she remembered that Mom walks like a marathoner just getting out of surgery, got the nurse to give her some Lasics, and she'll be good to go with normal (size and color) feet.

They're going to take her down for a chest and belly X-ray because her tummy is a little bigger than yesterday, but she really didn't seem too worried about that...just a precaution.

When Dr. Lambert asked if she wanted to drink any Ensure or Boost, she got a little excited. Who remembers Boost? It was the obsession that came before the SoBe (SoBeIt!) and before her shakes. The Boost will be good for her, with more calories and protein than the orange juice that she sips on all day.

We love Dr. Lambert a whole bunch! I appreciate how much time she spent staring at Mom's feet. That's goofy sounding, I know. But they were purple, and I was a little worried myself, to tell ya the truth! I know Dr. Lambert really cares for my mom, and I want to give her a big squeeze every time she leaves. On hardyfamilyupdates.blogspot.com (Nate and Natalie's blog-check it out!) Natalie said how she just wants to take Dr. Lambert right on home with her. I don't know, Nat, you might have a fight on your hands...we want to keep her, too!

Keep the encouraging texts coming, friends! She loves them, and she loves you!

Love,

Maddie
