HI everyone.....Not a lot to report this morning except to say that Lana said she managed a tiny smile this morning and she is understandably in a lot of pain but OK otherwise.  Dr. Lambert said everything is very good and they hope to get her out of the ICU in just a few days and into a room.  Lana said she was resting well and they were doing all they can to give her the drugs that would help her rest.  There are a lot of milestones that need to be crossed.....her digestive system needs to wake up at some point so she can tolerate a liquid diet and then soft foods....All this will take time and hopefully her body will heal and start working properly. Dr. Lambert said her next surgery will be to reverse the colostomy which will be a few months out....depending on her healing process. We're uplifted by the news but still try to remember the words that Peter gave us at the Hope Lodge when we were out there in April....Peter was helping his wife through bone marrow transplants and had been travelling a long road of rejections and more surgery...He told us, Don't get too excited about the good news and don't get too down about the bad news.....I've remembered that and tried to think of the whole process and its ups and downs.......Of course leaving it in the Lords hands is all we can do and hope and pray she has many years of living yet to come.  Of course We all think of Tami and how hard this is for her....I guess we can put that in perspective for each of us and try to get past some of our own struggles we each have and push forward.......
Love,
Judy
